The most common question I get all the time is: How did I start blogging and why?
Seven years ago, around this time, I started this blog during one of the most desperate and depressing moments of my life. I felt lost and I was just looking for something new to do in my life to pick up the pieces of myself again.
Growing up, my mom who is a single parent, owned a made-to-order clothing shop, so I’ve always had a love for fashion. Buying inexpensive but cute clothes became my therapy so my mom encouraged me to start a blog and show how to wear certain pieces and what to wear. Back then, blogging was fairly new and nobody really knew what a fashion blogger does or even what blogging means. Most bloggers were blogging about making money online and not really about fashion, food, lifestyle or travel.

When I first started this blog, I must admit that I really wasn’t clear as to my goal and purpose with it. I really couldn’t even look at the archive of this blog from 7 years ago because I cringe each time I see the photos and think to myself, “What was I thinking?” It was horrible. HAHA! At first, I thought I wanna blog about asian fashion but didn’t quite like the idea in the long run. What’s asian fashion anyways? *Rolls eyes*
Are you a person that looks at a glass half full or half empty? If you’re the latter, then it’s time to do some mind reset!
This past year and a half, I’ve learned so much about the power of thoughts and emotions and how they affect our reality…our lives in general. Believe it or not, the mind is so powerful that it can direct your life in a positive or a negative way. There is both a spiritual and scientific proof to this. Quantum scientific studies proved that your thoughts become your reality and if you have never heard of that before, I highly recommend that you look it up.
You’ve probably heard of the law of attraction too and the famous movie The Secret. Whether you like it or not, this is real stuff. But don’t take my word for it. Do a research and put it into action.
Basically, the law of attraction is a universal law that says that what you think or focus on, you attract. So if you think negative thoughts, you attract negative experiences in your life. If you think positive thoughts, you attract positive experiences in your life. Napoleon Hill said “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Buddha said “What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”
I think we’ve all heard this quote: “Be the best version of yourself.”
But have you ever wondered how? Honestly, I have. I have asked myself how can I be the best version of me? After all, that’s where it starts right? You have got to know where you are to know where you want to go. In this case, to know where you want to be or who you want to be.
The past year and a half has been quite a self-discovery for me. Having been married for about the same time now, marriage has taught me to learn more about myself so that I know what I can put in and what I can’t or don’t have to to make my marriage work. This self-discovery is still a work in progress but would like to share some of these tips to become the best version of yourself.
Have you ladies heard of photo facial? IPL? Intense Pulse Light? Maybe. Honestly, I have never heard of it until a couple of weeks ago.
If you’ve seen my How to Lose Stubborn Body Fat Effectively Through Cryolipolysis post, you know that I’ve recently visited Laser Girl Skin Care and Med Spa here in Houston. They offer a wide range of services from simple laser hair removal to non-invasive fat “removal” through cryolipolysis to different skin care treatments such as IPL or Intense Pulse Light, more commonly known as photo facial.
If you’re in the Houston area, I highly recommend Laser Girl Skin Care and Med Spa. The owner, Alyssa, is not only highly-skilled and knowledgeable as to what treatment is best for you, but she totally makes sure that you’re comfortable prior to getting any treatment and during any procedure. I realized that not all med spas are created equal! There are some that are too commercialized and then there’s Laser Girl Skin Care and Med Spa that makes you feel like you have a truly caring and highly skilled mom who’s treating your skin to make you look more beautiful!
In this day and age of technology and social media, I’m sure that we find ourselves more and more attached to our gadgets. Personally, I can’t travel without my laptop and tablet. I always take both with me whenever we travel. It’s funny but I do get separation anxiety. These gadgets are like kids to me, I get separation anxiety. Anybody feels the same way? Say amen! But kidding aside, I like to take both because tablets are always handy when you feel like having some pool time but need to do a quick work at the same time. I know you hard-working women with kids can relate!
I’ve always wished that there’s two in one because quite honestly, it’s not TSA and luggage-friendly to always be carrying 2-3 gadgets when traveling. Y’all know already that you need to take out all your electronics and put them in the tray while going through security. It’s such a hassle, right?
But the HP Envy x360 Laptops are heaven-sent! The 360° flip-and-fold design is so flippin’ (no pun intended) cool! This laptop can easily turn into a tablet with just one flip! The versatility sold me. It’s great for both business and personal use and comes in 13″ and 15″.
Ever wonder how to become a travel blogger and get paid to travel? If you love to travel, this has probably come across your mind and wondered how to go about doing it.
I know I have. While I didn’t start as a travel blogger and still don’t consider myself as a travel blogger per sé, I have done comped travel and got paid to travel and write about it. You can find some of my writings under the Travel and Lifestyle section of this blog.
Travel blogging has become huge the past few years and many individuals have gone on to become a full-time travel blogger and are living “the life.” I must admit the travel blogging lifestyle is pretty luxurious. However, just like any business and blogging, travel blogging is can be a business and you must treat it as such if you would like for it to be your source of full-time income eventually. It also takes a little bit of time to take off and you must put in a lot of effort at the beginning. However, the perks can be very rewarding, especially once you start getting paid to travel and write about it.
Do you, ladies and gentlemen, have any stubborn fat that no matter how much workout you do, it just won’t go away? I know I personally do. My problem area has always been my lower abs and no matter how much lower abs workout I do, I just couldn’t make it to go away. I honestly, I gave up on it. For years, since I was young, I’ve had it. My mom said it’s because I had a bad posture when I was growing up and I was always slouching. It could be. But I wanted it to go away. After awhile, I stopped trying. Until I learned about cryolipolysis.
What is cryolipolisys? According to wikipedia, it is a non-invasive (non-surgical) body contouring treatment used to reduce fat cell volume by freezing. Basically, it involves a machine that suctions the area that you want to get rid of fat from and freezes those fat. Your body then excretes the dead fat through your lymphatic system which is usually through sweating and urine excretion. Be sure to watch the video below.
I recently got a hold of Urban Decay’s Born to Run Collection and I’m super ecstatic. First of all, the packaging of each product is over the top! Being a lover of travel, I absolutely love the concept of this collection.
