Add an Instant Glam with Sequins

Yes, the holiday festivities are over but sequins are still not out of the trend from what I noticed. I still see a lot of retailers carrying sequined items and mind you, they're not on sale or on clearance items. I'm not a big sequin fan but there are times when I do feel it. It adds an instant glam to outfit.

Take for example this full sequin shorts that I have from Forever21. You can wear it for either day or evening occasion. For a day occasion, you can dress it down with a printed crop shirt say in beige or tan. A plain v-neck would also look perfect with these shorts and a pair of sandals. Just accessorize a little bit and you're good to go.

For an evening event, a dressy lace  or chiffon top would look perfect!

In my case, I paired it up with a sleeveless draped Allen B. top and Caché layered, semi-sequined vest. I guess you could say that this is more of an evening look than a day. I agree. However, the hat makes it a little bit less of an evening wear. Bottomline is if you have a sequined clothing item, make sure to be creative in dressing it up or down and still have that chic look!

My very first paparazzi shot, aha!

So let's break down what I have. First I have the sleeveless draped Allen B. top which JC Penney carries. I then accessorized it with a brass gold and black bib necklace. I love bib necklaces because they sophisticate style instantly! I also had that grey layered and semi-sequin vest from Caché. Grey, blue (in this case royal blue), and black are complimentary colors. Grey tones down the royal blue color a little bit.

Added a black bow leatherette bracelet and gold and black cuff bangle which are both very trendy. Gold goes really well with royal blue.  This picture also gives you a closer view of my shorts. As you can see, it's heavily sequined. Pretty neat!

I also used a thinner black and white bangle in my other arm.

My favorite designer handbag thus far! Lily Vasaelini's authentic ostrich skin satchel. To see more of her collections, visit www.senseofashion.com/designerbotique.

To give the whole ensemble a pop of color, I used my mustard Anne Michelle platforms. They are the most comfortable heels I've got. And yes mustard is complimentary to royal blue, grey, and black. It adds life to an otherwise monotonous color scheme.

Hope you like today's outfit post! If you haven't liked my FB page yet, please do so. The link is on the right and you may also add me to your Google + circles.

Welcome to My World...

Jesus loves me, this I know and I love Him because He first loved me. I am grateful for His Grace. I love Starbucks coffee. I can live without TV but not music and internet. I love graphic design. I am fascinated with sunsets.I am not too crazy about trying out new dishes and new hair style. I hate driving in unfamiliar places. This blog is mainly about fashion but you might find some random thoughts here and there. I like anything pretty and I wear it even if it's not branded.
